Life at The Exodus Ranch

June 2026: Summer Adventures Begin

Summer may have officially just begun for many families, but for the children at The Exodus Ranch, the fun started early. Since April, our kids have been making memories, exploring new places, learning new things, and enjoying opportunities made possible through the generosity of our supporters and community partners.

One of the highlights of the summer so far was a trip to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham. Thanks to memberships that were generously donated during the Christmas season, our children were able to spend the day exploring hands on exhibits, learning about science and technology, and enjoying an experience that many of them will remember for years to come. Gifts like these continue to provide opportunities long after the holiday season has passed.

Closer to home, our children had the opportunity to tour the Opelika Fire Department in downtown Opelika. The firefighters took time out of their day to show the kids around, explain how the department operates, and answer countless questions. It was an educational experience that gave our children a deeper appreciation for the men and women who serve and protect our community.

The children have also participated in Vacation Bible School, where they enjoyed fellowship, worship, Bible lessons, games, and activities while continuing to grow in their faith. Opportunities like VBS help provide encouragement, connection, and positive experiences that are so important during childhood.

Of course, no Alabama summer would be complete without spending time in the water. Our kids have enjoyed visits to both the Covington Recreation Center pool and the Opelika SportsPlex Splash Park. These outings have provided much needed fun, exercise, and relief from the summer heat while giving the children opportunities to simply enjoy being kids.

As we look ahead to the rest of the summer, we are excited about the opportunities still to come. Currently, The Exodus Ranch is currently home to 13 children and we are also providing resources to additional children in the community. One of our greatest needs at this time is support for summer activities and experiences. Donations and sponsorships help make field trips, recreational outings, educational opportunities, meals, transportation, and special activities possible for the children in our care.

Every contribution, whether large or small, helps create meaningful experiences and lasting memories for the children we serve. If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring a summer activity, providing tickets, donating gift cards, or helping offset the costs of outings, we would love to connect with you.

Thank you for continuing to support the mission of The Exodus Ranch. Because of your generosity, our children are able to experience a summer filled with learning, adventure, fun, and the reminder that they are loved by both God and their community.
